World Vision together with Beautiful Dream society, Media Institute in southern Africa and Lesotho National Federation organization for the disabled, held a workshop for media practitioners, and this workshop was aimed at promoting and protecting the human Rights, how to report and protect the rights of people with disability.
Mr. James Nkemba Chifwelu, a National Director of World Vision Lesotho indicated that the project is a three-year initiative, spanning from 2023 to 2026, and it will hold the potential to create a profound impact on the lives of vulnerable communities in our nation. .
Moreover, Mr Chifwelu said the overarching objective of this project is to fortify social protection systems, particularly in monitoring, preventing, and responding to Trafficking in Persons (TIP), protection of vulnerable children and safeguarding the rights of People with Disabilities (PwD).
On the other hand, Mrs Mmakhalelo Mosebo from BDS explained that media practitioners are so important, therefore they should make sure that they report and handle news related to people with disability, survivors of human trafficking and vulnerable children in a good way.
The Geographical Coverage of the Project is extensive, encompassing seven districts excluding Butha-Bothe, qacha’s Nek and Thabatseka
