Mafeteng, Sept.06 -- The Officer Commanding Mafeteng Police Senior Superintendent (Snr. Spt.) Leabua Shale has condemned the brutal killing of a 29-year-old Thamae Mothupi of Ha Ralints'i in Mafeteng on Monday this week.

In an interview on Wednesday, Snr. Spt. Shale said the act is inhumane as no one has a right kill anyone and should not be entertained hence the need for members of the community in the area to provide thee police with information that will lead to the arrest of the suspects.

He said the victim who sustained seven wounds all over the body including on the head was shot several times at his respective home by unknown people who flew away from the scene of crime leaving the victim dead.

Senior Superintendent Shale said the deceased was sleeping when awoken by his parents and children telling him that his car was burning outside and they managed to stop the fire and while asking each other about where the fire came from they heard a sound of gun shooting closer to them and they went back to the house not aware that the owner of the car has been shot dead.

He called on members of the community in the area to provide police with information that will lead to the arrest of the suspects as police alone could not be able to identify the suspects, saying criminal offenses are occurring far away from the police but within the village where the community is living.

The Officer Commanding Mafeteng Police Snr. Spt Shale said investigations are continuing regarding the matter.

Ha Ralintsi is one of the villages within Qibing Community Council located along the main road to Vanrooyen’s Gate.
