At least three journalists from Lesotho are attending a seminar on young media professionals for African countries in Beijing China.

The seminar is expected to run for 20 days and is organized by China Radio and television Company for International Techno-Economic Cooperation.

The trio Mr. Khotsofalang Koloi from The Post newspaper, Mr. Simon Leemisa from Lesotho Times and Miss Motheba Tsunyane from Lesotho News Agency form part of the 30 participants from countries like Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, Nigeria and Sierra Leone.

These participants are expected to have lectures and courses on China radio and television development and the international cooperation and exchange between China and developing countries in the field of radio. The trio Mr. Khotsofalang Koloi from The Post newspaper, Mr. Simon Leemisa from Lesotho Times and Miss Motheba Tsunyane from Lesotho News Agency form part of the 30 participants from countries like Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, Nigeria and Sierra Leone.

Furthermore, the training course content will be on introduction to new media, audio visual language, multimedia information editing, new media information planning, network communication, mass communication, new writing, news interviews and integrated media technology.

Moreover, Project Manager Mr. Zhao Peri said that in the era of big data emerging industries are booming and the radio and TV industry has been greatly impacted.

He said that TV viewing is declining and also purchase of set top boxes continues to decline saying that TV and radio must keep up with time emphasizing that it needs technological boost. Meanwhile at the end of the training participants will be awarded certificates.
