Several shops run by the foreign business community were seen open during the election’s day across the whole country m on Friday.

According to the Elections Act, shops were supposed to be closed between 7:00am when the Electoral Divisions opens and 5:00pm when they close to give electorates time to go and to cast their votes.

Besides some of the shops being opened, the elections process is reported to have been going on smoothly in various Community Councils, even though there was a small number seen at different EDs.

Moreover, reports had indicated that youth were seen in small numbers at voting councils, and according to one Mampiti Kotelo, youth needs to be educated about the significance of voting for councilors, as some prefer to vote only in national elections.

On the other hand, 'Mamohlaoli Khitlane shared the same sentiments by noting that there is a long way to go to convince the youth in this country to vote in Local Government Elections.
