A member of Socialist Revolutionaries, Mrs. 'Mamarame Matela, resigned as a member of parliament last week. This is according to a letter that was read by the speaker of the parliament, Honorable Tlohang Sekhamane on Friday.

Mrs. Matela was also a member of the committee that oversees the use of public funds (PAC). Moreover, Mrs Matela has left the parliament at a time when the government and opposition parties need the numbers to defeat the motion of no confidence in the government led by Prime Minister Sam Ntsokoane Matekane.

However, reports indicate that the one who should take Mrs. Matela`s  position is a member of Movement for Economic Change, Mr. Chabasele Mabusela, who was included in the list of the SR's party because MEChad an alliance with the SR, at one constituency in Mafeteng,  in the previous elections.

However, this case is not over, therefore the Court through Judge Makara has ordered that Mr. Mabusela must not be sworn today, until this case is over.
