The House of the Senate has taken a short break to allow members to attend and support Government initiatives to handover motor vehicles to Lesotho Mounted

Police Service (LMPS) and launch a Youth Empowerment Programme named Sebabatso.  The Leader of the House Mr. Matjato Motjeane stood up to propose the motion that the house go for a short break, he said this is done to allow members to take part on issues that concern development of the country.

Mr. Moteane indicated that both the initiatives are important in a sense that the 79 motor vehicles to be presented to LMPS will ease their job, while Sebabatso is expected to respond to some of the youth challenges that include amongst others high unemployment rate.  He said 30 young people will be given a chance to showcase their talents whereby 10 of them will be awarded a sponsorship to go to Kenya to also showcase their products and enhance their skills.

Chief Sempe Masupha hailed that both the initiatives are a very smart move by the government, adding that may the Sebabatso programme see the light to enable youth to establish their own enterprises and be at the position to bring back others across the border. He said they are glad to see the government giving LMPS a priority as this is going to positively impact on LMPS duties, he said LMPS struggled for years with scarcity of motor vehicles and that made them look like they are not doing their job effectively.

Member of the House Senator Leboea Khoaele also commented on the government for all the initiatives it has taken so far to respond to some of the issues that are of concern.  Senator Khoaele pleaded with politicians to support these initiatives, he said due to the current political turmoil, even good inventiveness is let to waste.
