A fifty-five-year-old man from Ha-Seleitara in Quthing is in police custody for the alleged murder of his father aged seventy-seven that occurred in the same village on Thursday.

Quthing Police Deputy Police Commander Senior Inspector Moeketsi Mokotjo said the suspect allegedly beat the deceased with a stick to death complaining that his father had not bought tobacco for him.

The District Deputy Police Commander said the suspect has been arrested on the same day following an information from the community, the body of the deceased has been kept at the mortuary for postmortem while murder case docket has been opened.

Moreover, he said he is very concerned about this habit of sons who kill their parents for money when they have to protect, work and provide for them.
