This year’s mid-term budget review presentation is due on Wednesday this week following the letter read by Speaker of the National Assembly Mr. Tlohang Sekhamane in the National Assembly on Monday. Mr. Sekhamane told the House that he has received the letter from the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning Principal Secretary Ms. Nthoateng Lebona who requested for a joint sitting in order to allow the Minister Dr. Retsélisitsoe Matlanyane to present the mid- term budget review statement.

He said a joint sitting of the National Assembly and the Senate would provide a comprehensive platform for the presentation, discussion, and review of the vital document, ensuring that it is scrutinized thoroughly. Mr. Sekhamane also said the Principal Secretary has also requested that the Mid-Term Budget Review Statement be scheduled for presentation on November 8, 2023 at 09:00a.m.

Dr. Matlanyane presented her maiden budget speech in February this year and the Mid-Term Budget Review presentation will review the performance of the budget speech which started operating on April 01 this year and pave the way forward.
