Senators propose prioritization of national reforms as matter of urgency

The Principal Chief of Leribe Chief Joel Motsóene has before the House of the Senate moved a motion urging all sides both in government and opposition to resolve the impasse on the National Reforms and make it a priority to pass the Omnibus Bill as a matter of urgency.

On the other hand, Chief Khoabane Theko hailed on the matter indicating that the issue of not passing the reforms has made Lesotho a laughing stock to other African countries, and to investors and other partners. He therefore said, there are no investors who would love to invest their money and their resources in an unstable country caused by politicians.

He said members of the Parliament are busy fighting one another while there is so much that needs to be done to revive Lesotho and its economy.

Chief Mitchell Seeiso Maama also shared the same sentiments that politicians are doing things for their own interest, not for the public.

He said during the speech from the throne at the opening of the 11th Parliament, King Letsie III stressed the issue of reforms and urged all relevant parties to work jointly to pass the reforms.
