The late Mr. Moeketsi Sekilo (75), who has been missing since May 10 this year has been found at the river banks of Whitehill still donning garments identified as his by his son.

According to Detective Sub Inspector Thabo Setenane, Qacha’s Nek Police Station CID Manager, the deceased’s corpse was found yesterday morning, highly decayed beyond recognition.

He said he was reported missing after he allegedly rode his horse to meet someone from across the river but never returned back until on May 14, 2023 when the police divers were engaged in a bid to recover him but in vain. He added by saying It was suspected that he might have drowned in the river while making his way back home as his horse was found straying by the river banks on May 11.

Detective Sub/Inspector Setenane appealed to the public in general to take care of elders, especially those at the age of being diagnosed with dementia. He indicated that It is risky to allow them to walk long distances alone as anything could happen to them.
