In an attempt to promote and showcase their products and services, farmers from different sectors attended farmers market events held in Maseru over the weekend.

Organized by the European Union (EU), World Vision Lesotho (WVL) as well as Sesotho Media Development, the event saw farmers showcasing their different products and services, from vegetables to other varieties of things including youth participating in parliamentary discussions.

Information received from the EU shows that through this event, farmers are not only expected to partake in the promotion of their products and services as well but to network, bring in more ideas that can grow Lesotho developmentally and economically.

One of the participants who is also a youth and is further representing the organisers, Sesotho Media and Development, Tankiso Rabolinyane mentioned the importance of events such as these ones in raising awareness about products available in store for clients to buy.

Apart from partaking in the youth parliamentary discussions also, where they talked of a number of issues affecting youth, he mentioned that they also signed and disseminated messages through EU pledge cards on 16 days of activism against gender-based violence.

The same platform was further used to commence and showcase 16 days of activism against gender-based violence through pledge cards, where individuals wrote their message representing the 16 days as a movement.

The 16 days mark a global call for an end to violence against women and girls. It runs from November 25 to December 10 according to the World Health Organization (WHO).
