Mokhotlong_Speaker after speaker commended Mr. Serame Linake for his outstanding performance during his tenure of office as the District Administrator (DA) of Mokhotlong.

Speaking at the farewell bidding ceremony hosted by the business community and livestock farmers in the district on Tuesday, hardly two days before Mr. Linake contract ending, speakers wished his contract could be extended to allow him time to finish some of the issues he was in the process of resolving for the Mokhotlong community.

Among them was the Acting Principal Chief of Mokhotlong, Chief Lerotholi Mathealira Seeiso who said the out-going DA served the district with excellence and worked hard to ensure the livelihoods of Mokhotlong community improve.

Chief Seeiso said personally, when he resumed duty in the Mokhotlong Principal Chief's Office, he received the necessary support from Mr. Linake adding that the support he got helped him (Seeiso) a lot.

"Ntate Linake, we are truly thankful for your excellent work and leadership to us", he said.

Another speaker was Mr. Khotsang Moshoeshoe who represented the wool and mohair farmers in the district. He said Mr. Linake served everyone without political discrimination and urged his successor to do the same.

He requested the government to consider extending Mr. Linake's contract by at least six months to allow him address issues he was already in the process of solving for the benefit of the Mokhotlong community.

Mr. Moshoeshoe said they expect the next DA to serve all without any discrimination and strive towards the development of Mokhotlong district as a whole.

Furthermore, one of the business community Mr. Matjea Nkune said Mr. Linake served the community with love and dedication all the time.

He added that he always strived for unity among the farmers and business community hence today's ceremony to honour him for his outstanding performance.

Other speakers who shared similar sentiments with the rest were the Mokhotlong Magistrate Mr. Monyake Hlabanyane and Superintendent Bothata 'Nei of Mokhotlong Police station. They reiterated support they received from Mr. Linake to ensure work became easy.

In his vote of thanks, Mr. Linake appreciated the love and trust demonstrated to him by the Mokhotlong community and requested the community to support his successor for the development of the district.

Mr. Linake was honoured and presented with a trophy for his outstanding performance and some cash whose amount was not disclosed as contributions from farmers and the business community.

His contract ends on Thursday this week after serving as the DA for six years.

Among the issues that Mr. Linake was still in the process of resolving was the 'Moteng blockage, Commercialisation of Sani Border Post, cross border crime and stock theft which is a major challenge facing the district.
