In a bid to prevent illegal crossings and save lives, Lesotho Defence Force, Lesotho Mounted Police Service together with National Security Services have pledged standby deployment of more officers at illegal border posts during Christmas break rush.

This was said by Qacha’s Nek District Administrator Mrs Matiisetso Moletsane and she said this will be done to ensure smooth operations of the two border controls around the country.

Moletsane said illegal crossings are a risk to residents as a whole hence there is a need for migrant workers to use one channel (border) to get into the country. She therefore said, that way, a lot of harmful things will be prevented.
