Thaba Tseka Jan 29 -- As the Ministry of Education and Training has earmarked January 29 as ''Back to school" day,  Public Servants gathered at Loti Primary School to motivate and donate stationery to vulnerable children in that school

Administration Manager Mr. 'Muso Jane said the purpose of the event is to motivate the learners to go to school even when they encounter challenges.

He said they also came to show learners that even without proper school uniforms they can achieve their dreams and become professionals in their desired fields.

At the same event, Mrs. Nteboheng Lebaka from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry said she knows how it feels not to have a school uniform, but had pleaded with the learners to persevere to achieve their dreams.

Former School Principal at Loti Primary Mrs. Maraohang Lehobo also told them to plant vegetables in their home yards to promote good nutrition.

At the same event one vulnerable learner was selected and about M1, 020.00 was raised to buy him school uniform.

Public Servants had brought stationery for the learners and those included notebooks, pencils, sanitary towels, socks, rulers, pencils, and Katlehong primary school uniform.

To grace the event, Lesotho Correctional Services (LCS), Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security and Nutrition, Environment and Forestry, Education and Training, Thaba Tseka Technical Institute (TTI), Disaster Management Authority (DMA) Food and Nutrition Coordinating Office (FNCO) amongst others.

The number of donations as compared to 2023 donations had dropped.
