The revival torch which was launched officially by the King a few months ago, is currently in circulation countrywide, Project RE Chief Executive Officer has said. Speaking in a telephonic interview with the Agency on Tuesday, Mr. Solly Mofoka highlighted the importance of the torch highlighting the King’s message in line with revival, rebirth and reconciliation among the nation.

He explained that the torch which spends at least three conservative days in each district and spearheaded with prayer is a noble initiative seeking to instil forgiveness among Basotho as well as helping the nation to find their roots again, after being through a variety of life challenges that has brought division. Therefore, Mr. Mofoka mentioned that so far, the torch has already been to  Botha-Bothe following the launch in Maseru and will also move to Leribe between March 01 and March 03 respectively.

He alluded that in the 200 years since the formation of the Basotho nation, Project RE is massively undertaking these activities, as they have spotted an opportunity at this time when many are willing to make the best out of 2024. He called all to look into this opportunity, to make sure that they build peace and harmony so as to celebrate with the spirit of changing the country for the better. Meanwhile, he stipulated that this project objectives and goals emanating from re-uniting the nation as well as celebrating history will strive to ensure that by 2030, the nation that has been formed by Morena Moshoeshoe l is renewed holistically.

On the other Hand, the Agency has learnt that Project RE set time tally with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) whereby member states inclusive of Lesotho are meant to have  attained set targets of fighting hunger, ensuring universal education as well as promotion of gender equality.
