The Revenue Services Lesotho (RSL) held a one day pre-filling tax clinic (session) for members of the business community and the public servants in the district on Tuesday. The purpose was to further encourage those eligible to pay tax to do so in consideration of the June 30 deadline to file tax returns. The RSL Training and Education Officer Mr. Relebohile & Molaoa said this during his presentation which took the attended through steps on how to register and file tax returns online.

He said the aim of the pre-filling session which is conducted annually around this time is to remind all who are supposed to pay taxes to do their responsibility and improve complaince. Mr. &Molaoa said tax education on filling returns started in Mokhotlong adding that similar sessions will be conducted in other parts of the country to improve clients’ self-service on the use of e-taxation payments. He appreciated the attendance from the Mokhotlong business sector and encouraged them to file returns on time.

One of the attendands, Mr. Jobo Moshoeshoe thanked RSL for the education brought to them and introducing the e-services to use for filing at their own convenient time. He promised to pay taxes and contribute towards the development of the country. In his closing remarks, the District Administrator for Mokhotlong Mr. Kepa Keqe urged all to ensure they pay their dues for the government revenue collection. The RSL was established by Act of Parliament in 2001 and became operational in 2003. It is mandated to assess and collect revenue for Government.
