Deputy leader of Basotho Action Party (BAP) Mr. Motlatsi Maqelepo also Minister of Tourism, Sports, Arts and Culture says friendship between Professor Nqosa Mahao the Minister of Energy and Meteorology also BAP leader and his Principal Secretary PS Tankiso Phapano is broken.

This he said when addressing the press during a briefing held in Maseru on Thursday. Mr. Maqelepo stated that the Minister is the one in charge at the ministry, but the PS fails to take instructions from him. He emphasised that the Principal Secretary is insubordinate and that may lead to defamation.

Moreover, Maqelepo stated that even if the PS might have opposing decisions the last decision will be from the minister. He however indicated that, the decisions the PS might take is when the minister is taking illegal decisions.

Furthermore, he said that he and the minister are going to write a letter to Secretary-General of Revolution for Prosperity (RFP) and request that the PS go for training. He said the training will help him know his boundaries.

This was following an alliance between the main ruling party RFP and Alliance of Democrats (AD), Movement for Economic Change (MEC), Lesotho Congress for Democracy (LCD), Baena, and HOPE. The alliance came after a proposed motion of no confidence by some opposing parties was placed before parliament.
