With just a few days past the commemoration of the World Water Day, water scarcity seems to be a problem that a number of areas around the Maseru town encounter.

Mr. Tankiso Nts'iea residing at Ha Tsolo said with such celebrations as of the World water day, Lesotho should introspect on how well the nation can access clean drinking water.

He mentioned that in his area, they keep getting water cut offs which most of the time when it returns, it is contaminated beyond usage.

Mr. Nts'iea however pleaded with the government to speed up processes of ensuring that everyone has access to clean drinking water as it has benefits which some are income generating.

Meanwhile, the Water and Sewage Company (WASCO) has announced that there will be water cut offs on Monday, March, 25th in a number of places around the Maseru town which is due to the cleaning of some of the major reservoirs.

The areas which are expected to be affected by this process include those within the Maseru CBD such as Old and new Europa, Ratjomose, Maseru Bridge and Central prison which are served at WASCO's reservoir B.

Some places which will be affected are those served by Reservoir C1, D, E Tikoe Thetsane, Thetsane Lekhalong and Tsolo.
