THABA-NCHU OFFERS REWARDS FOR PEOPLE
Thaba-Nchu offers rewards for people
25 January 2017 | 09:13

The Thaba Nchu police offer financial rewards to people who can provide information that leads to the arrest and conviction of perpetrators wanted in connection with several brutal crimes.

The incidents reportedly took place at separate places and times within the Thaba Nchu precinct.

Sgt Martin Xuma, spokesperson for the Selosesha police cluster, says no arrests have yet been made and investigations into the brutal killings are ongoing.

A reward of R30 000 is offered to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest of the killers of Dikeledi Anna Mokgotsi. Mokgotsi was found with her face peeled off. Xuma said the victim’s body was found abandoned near the Albert Moroka Bridge in Thaba Nchu on the morning of 13 October 2015.

“The preliminary investigation revealed that she was murdered at a certain place, not at the actual scene where her body was found abandoned near the bridge.”

He said a day before the woman was murdered, she was reportedly seen at a tavern in Ratlou.

A reward of R100 000 is offered to anyone providing information that leads to the arrest of two armed robbers who shot four people, killing three, during the robbery of a tavern in Ramakgare.

Xuma said on 3 April last year, the robbers stormed into the tavern and fatally shot tavern owner Dipuo Kgaeyane (54) and security guards Tefo Tau (36) and Phakisi Makhalanyane (45). The tavern owner’s boyfriend was also shot, but survived. The two robbers took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot.

Xuma said Tau and Makhalanyane died at the scene, while Kgaeyane died at a local hospital. He said the victims were attacked at the close of business.

A reward of R30 000 is offered to anyone providing accurate information about the suspects who killed Lesotho national Karabo Modise (22) and cut off his genitals on 17 July last year.

Xuma said the victim, who had been employed as a shepherd, was found dead at midnight on the Blydskap Farm. He said the deceased is suspected to have been killed during a fight with unidentified attackers.
