A 35 years old man of Ha-Rampesa Pitseng Leribe was handed over to the police by the public, for allegedly raping a 28 years old diabled woman.

The Lesotho Mounted Police spokesperson Supretendent Mpiti Mopeli, says on the 22nd January this year around 12noon, the man visited the woman’s home and asked to be given water to drink, and the woman said there was no water in her house.

Supretendent Mpiti Mopeli said after this the man pushed the woman into the house where he started raping her, and the neighbor who was around during the incident started raising an alarm to the public, who immediately gathered to the place to help.

He explained that the public caught the man and brought him to the police after beating him, and he is expected to appear before the court later this year, as he is currently in hospital in Leribe for treatment.
