The minister of agriculture and food security honorable Mahala Molapo says the government shall continue supporting farmers with 50% subsidy, this he said yesterday at a press conference, where he conveyed his appreciation towards farmers’ efforts,upon their winter planting of peas and wheat ,reiterating that the government’s support will extend to harvesting wheat when it is ready and to the purchase of pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers with the same contribution.

He stated that those engaged in block farming shall be advantaged to buy at retail prices,furthermore he pleaded with them to continue with the block farmers that the government has been helping.

Concerning livestock he announced that his department will persist on promoting the production of wool and will therefore  embark on erecting 40 shearing sheds across the country within this financial year .
