Ha-Rakolo villagers plan to protest against crime.

Residents of Ha-Rakolo Kolonyama Leribe are planning to hold a peaceful protest against crime in their village, on Saturday the 7th July 2018.

This comes after three women were reported to have been raped in that village.

In an interview with Harvest FM News Department, one of the organizers of the protest Mr Thabo Tlali, said some of the criminal activities include people who insult others when they are drunk and theft.

Mr Tlali said they are worried about the bad reputation of their village which once had a good reputation.

On the other hand the Councilor of the Kolonyama region Mr Tlokotsana Nthathakhane, said there are some developments he wants to bring at Ha-Rakolo, but he thinks those developments will not benefit residents of that village, because of the prevailing crime that causes instability among the villagers.

Mr Nthathakhane said he is disappointed by the unknown people who broke into the house of a 29 years old woman, and raped her in front of her seven years old daughter.

He called on to the neighbouring villages including Makhalong and Rakobeli, to take part in the protest as the same crime might also take place in their villages.

The protest will start from the Kolonyama play ground on Saturday this week, and end at Ha-Rakolo where the protest letter will be handed to the chief of the village.
