Mafeteng, April.05 ___  The Mafeteng Magistrate Court has sentenced a 28 year old Motlatsi Makhele of Ha Keketsi to 50-years imprisonment without option of fine for sexual offense.

According to the evidence led before court the convict on May 14, 2022 intentionally, wrongfully and unlawfully decided to break into the home of a fifteen year old minor of Ha Keketsi where he sexually molested her.

It showed that the convict entered the complainant's home through the window while her mother has gone to toilet holding a axe which he hit the complainant on the head then raped her thus contravening section 52(1) of Penal Code Act N0-6 of 2010.

It stated that the complainant's mother after relieving herself visited her in-law-sister not knowing that her child has been assaulted and raped and upon her arrival found her daughter crying then narrated the story of whom she reported the matter to area chief then to Tsakholo Police until the convict was arrested and convicted.

In mitigation he pleaded guilty to the charge asking for forgiveness from the complainant's parents pledging to pay anything that the family could demand.

Delivering the judgment Mathano Kopung informed the convict that he has been cruel to the complainant as he had to protect her but be the one who broke complainant's heart and brought shame upon her life and lowering her conference through the act.

She notified the convict that courts of law will remain as the voice of the voiceless through delivering harsh sentences to all those against the law.
