The National University of Lesotho 2018 Graduation Ceremony will be split into two separate ceremonies, which will both take place at the main campus at Roma on the 22nd September, 2018 and the 29th September, 2018, respectively.
In order to facilitate the smooth running of the two events, Faculties and their related programmes will be spread between the two dates earmarked for the ceremonies.
The first ceremony on 22nd September, 2018 has been set for Degree programmes in the Faculties of Education, Humanities, and Law; Diploma programmes in the Faculties of Education and Humanities as well as; Postgraduate programmes in the Faculties of Education, Humanities and Law. These include Diploma in Mass Communication and Bachelor of Education (Adult Education).
The second ceremony on the 29th September, 2018 has been set for Degree programmes in the Faculties of Social Sciences, Science and Technology, Agriculture, Health Sciences and IEMS; Certificates and Diplomas in Statistics and Business Management as well as; Postgraduate programmes for Social Sciences, Science and Technology, Agriculture, Health Sciences and IEMS.
All logistical arrangements for the graduation ceremonies will follow the established University procedure.
Historically, the graduation ceremony at NUL took place on the last Saturday of September for all programmes ranging from certificate to diploma, degree and postgraduate levels.
With time, the number of graduands has risen from 323 in 1988 to 2,200 in 2018. This growth had gradually made it cumbersome for graduands and guests to travel to Roma due to the absence of alternative routes into the Roma valley and into the campus. Currently, with the split ceremonies, the campus is able to accommodate all the guests and vehicles; parking spaces have been developed.
