The Vice-Chancellor of the National University of Lesotho (NUL) Professor Nqosa Mahao officially launched the annual intervarsity games of the universities of Lesotho, Botswana and eSwatini in Maseru yesterday.

In his statement, Professor Mahao said these games are a reminiscence of the times when these universities were called with one name, and that they rebuild unity in sports and culture in these universities.

He said in 2020 Lesotho will be a host of the Youth Regional Games, and that many athletes and coaches will be participating in that event.

National University of Lesotho is hosting the 2019 BOLESWA Intervarsity Games, which started yesterday in the main campus in Roma and will end on Friday this week.

In a statement, NUL reported that more than 1500 people from these universities will participate in these games which include football games, swimming and taekwondo.

Other games include singing competition, mr and miss university competition and cultural day which will be celebrated on Friday.
