The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has on Wednesday during its sitting called the Executive Director of Duty-Free Sourcing Company, Mr. Teboho Kobeli to order for not cooperating.

This after he was hesitant to disclose some information required by the committee, on grounds that he was not bound to and that he did not know what he was called for thus came unprepared.

PAC Chairperson Mrs. Machabana Lemphane Letsie told him he was bound to since he was before the Parliamentary Committee and advised him to cooperate, asking him to disclose the amount of money he used to purchase shares for Duty Free Sourcing Company since he is the majority shareholder as well as when the company would repay the M6.5 Million debt to Lesotho National Development Corporation (LNDC)  including the interest of 5 percent and an additional default of 2.5 percent.

In his response, Mr. Kobeli said he was not in a position to disclose the above as he would have to refer to documents. He was therefore instructed to bring credible documents which included amongst others, those for purchase of shares, those which specify when the debt will be paid, the number of workers for the company, youth apprentices deployed in the company as well as the 5 percent interest and an additional 2.5 percent default.

Meanwhile it was revealed that the above-mentioned company was granted a M10 Million loan from LNDC in November 2023 and agreed to settle it by the end of 2024.
