The PROJECT Re- will host a preview of the National Revival Torch, ‘LEBONE la TSOSOLOSO ea Basotho le Lesotho’, ahead of its official unveiling and lighting ceremony. The event will be held in Maseru on Wednesday. In an interview, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mr. Solly Mofoka said the event will be graced by the presence of King Letsie III where he is expected to light the torch and deliver a speech that will begin the social transformation journey of the Basotho Nation, under the PROJECT Re- work process. He said there will be a stakeholders’ panel prepared for deliverance of a briefing on the torch
and the social transformation journey. Adding that It will consist of PROJECT Re-Leadership, Government, the Church and Morija Museum and Archives. Mr. Mofoka further stated that the lighting of the National Revival Torch is crucial as it is meant to bring back the values of Basotho.
Meanwhile, the Lesotho Tourism Development Corporation and Selemo Association commemorated the beginning of Basotho New Year dubbed & Moea oa Selemo sa Basotho which is commemorated in August. The Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mr. Tebello Thoola and Selemo Association Mr. Lebohang Mohapi shared the same sentiments that it is important that Basotho go back to their roots where people used to look after one another regardless of whether they are blood related or not.
They said they are hopeful that these initiatives will yield positive results and bring back the Mosotho Child that existed back then. PROJECT Re- is a multi-stakeholder social transformation work process that seeks to create a better society and a new Lesotho as we come to our bicentenary year and go beyond.
