Prime Minister participates at Korea summit
03 June 2024 | 15:01

Prime Minister Samuel Ntsokoane Matekane will participate in the Korea-Africa Summit, which will be attended by Heads of African States, the Government of South Korea, and international organisations. The summit is scheduled to commence on June 05, 2024.

The theme of the summit is "The Future We Want Together, Shared Growth, Sustainability, and Solidarity."

The 2024 Korea-Africa Business Summit will be a grand-scale economic event where major government officials, business leaders, and economic experts will convene to discuss industrial developments, trade expansion, strengthening food and mineral security, and responses to climate change.

The summit aims to achieve mutual growth through sustainable industrial development and the promotion of investment between the two parties. These issues are critically important to both continents and are key priorities in Lesotho's National Strategic Development Plan (NSDP II).

Since the NSDP emphasises a private sector-led economy, this summit presents an excellent opportunity for Lesotho to contribute meaningfully to the deliberations and attract investors.

The PM's delegation will include the Ministers of Information, Communications, Science, Technology and Innovation; Energy; and Trade, Industry and Business Development.
