The Lesotho Tourism Development Corporation (LTDC) will celebrate the World Tourism Day at Sani Top (Sekiring) in Mokhotlong on September 27. Manager, Investment Promotion Ms.Makoroloso Lekhesa from LTDC has said when briefing Head of Departments about the Corporation&;s plan to celebrate the day in the district.

She said September has been declared by the United Nations Tourism, an agency responsible for the promotion of tourism sector worldwide to promote issues related to tourism worldwide.

Ms. Lekhesa explained that throughout the month, LTDC will be embarking on trainings of herdboys on tourism related issues adding that in Mokhotlong the plan is to sensitise herders in the Sani Top area about importance of tourism as a sector so as to enhance protection of tourists whenever they visit the country.

She further said the Corporation decided  to hold this year;s celebration at Sani Top because it is one of the places mostly visited by tourists from outside the country in larger numbers. Tourism Month is celebrated annually in September to promote domestic travel, showcase the country;s diverse tourism offerings, and to highlight the sector;s significant contribution to the economy of the country.
