Maseru __ Youth from various sectors pledged their commitment to DCEO to fight corruption during the commemoration of Anti-Corruption Day in Maseru on Monday.

Speaking on behalf of the media sector, Mr. Hlalefo Motutse said young journalists committed themselves to working with the DCEO by promoting transparency and accountability in reporting and ensuring the public receives truthful and accurate information.

Youth from the political sector pledged to promote transparency, particularly in employment processes, and to discourage corrupt practices within political spaces.

The DCEO Director of Public Education and Corruption Prevention, Mr. Litelu Ramokhoro, said the event marked the first time Anti-Corruption Day had been commemorated with direct youth involvement. He emphasized the importance of engaging youth as key partners in preventing corruption.

Mr. Ramokhoro added that the DCEO envisions a corruption-free generation driven by informed and responsible youth and expressed appreciation for their willingness to actively participate in corruption prevention efforts.

The pledges were made by youth representing sectors including the media, politics, schools, sports, faith-based institutions, youth organizations, business, NGOs, healthcare organizations, LNDFOD, and community groups.
