On the second day of the ongoing public forum—convened by the government to foster open dialogue and strategic consultations between cabinet ministers and the citizenry—a remarkably large crowd gathered to actively participate in the proceedings.

Among the prominent grievances raised during the summit, the youth of Lesotho passionately decried the pervasive crisis of unemployment, an issue that the Right Honorable Prime Minister, Sam Ntsokoane Matekane, had previously declared a national emergency. In response, the youth appealed to the government to implement strategic measures enabling them to monetize digital platforms.

Consequently, the Honorable Minister of Information, Communications, Science, Technology, and Innovation, Nthati Moorosi, clarified that Lesotho is currently excluded from digital monetization frameworks. However, she assured the public that the government intends to convene a dedicated summit with digital content creators and stakeholders to explore viable mechanisms for empowering the youth to generate income through digital innovation and content creation.
