The Minister of Law and Constitutional Affairs Honourable Lebohang Hlaele tabled the national reforms bill of 2018 in the national assembly yesterday.
Honourable Hlaele said the bill is intended to establish the commission, whis is meant to facilitate the national dialogue on matters of the constitution and other related issues, which will ensure the integrated constitutional, palamentary, judicial and public service reforms.
He said the commission is meant to operate independently of the control of any authority, to ensure transparency, the rule of law and the involvement of the entire nation.
He added that the commission is to be headed by the retired judge or someone of high moral integrity, and will consist of six commissioners who are experienced in their different fields.
Honourable Hlaele said the bill proposes that the commission will operate for the period of eighteen months and seven days after the king accepts it.
