The Lesotho Highlands Development Authority (LHDA) has announced a temporary closure of the A1 road linking Mapholaneng and Mokhotlong to facilitate preparations for the official opening of the Senqu Bridge.

According to a public notice issued by the Authority’s Public Relations Office, the new approach road to the Senqu Bridge will be closed from 06:00am on April 21 until 06:00am on April 23. The closure is expected to affect road users travelling between the two towns, with possible traffic delays anticipated during this period.

The temporary restriction is aimed at ensuring smooth preparations for the official launch of the bridge, which will be presided over by King Letsie III alongside President Cyril Ramaphosa on Wednesday.
