An officer commanding the Criminal Investigations Division (CID) Inspector Moeketsi Sehau says a 20-year-old man from Ketane is expected to appear before the court pending police investigations, charged with theft and arson.
Inspector Sehau stated this in an interview with the Agency by noting that the suspect is reported to have allegedly burned two residential houses at Mafika-Lisiu Primary School, and took clothes belonging to the school's principal, but was apprehended by villagers after spotting him wearing them.
The incident has been confirmed by Qhoasing F06 Counsellor Mr. Patlo Sephoko by adding that the principal was not present when houses were set alight but villagers managed to rescue some of his belongings.
Sephoko, who is of the view that by burning the house the suspect was trying to eliminate any evidence which might have linked him to the incident, stated that the latter is a man from Ha Challa who is no stranger to criminal activities, as he was once suspected of stealing cattle from around Ketane.
