Storm mountain Diamonds categorically denied  what it calls the false allegations made against it by the transformation Resource center TRC in a press statement of the 26 september 2018 and as reported on by the SABC.

This transpired at a press conference in Mseru Yesterday where SMD articulated that it is disappointed that the trc, an NGO with an important mandate in Lesotho is using its platform and voice to make false allegations and thereby sow discord and tension rather than to further its stated objectives of advocating of peace and justice.

The chairman of the board of Directors Of storm Mountain Diamonds Mr Cliford Mundel highlighted that the TRC alleges that the PAC discovered that SMD owes royalties and taxes to the Government.However SMD  also said this allegation Is also not true as SMD is fully compliant with all of its tax obligations as it has paid all royalties that are due to the government of Lesotho as per its mining agreement read with the mines and minerals act of 2005.

However the chief executive officer of storm mountain diamonds Mr Mohale Ralikariki indicated that as the mines they are doing everything in their powe to satisfy the community but no matter how hard they try TRC keeps sabotaging them and turning the community against them .He said in terms of dealing with the community SMD does not have any problem but the problem is TRC.
