Ministry of Public Works and Transport announced that it will publish new traffic fees in the Department of Traffic.

Speaking in Maseru on Tuesday 24th December 2019, Minister of Public Works and Transport Honorable Keketso Sello said it has come to their attention that there is a gazette released in November 2017, with which the government reviewed their ministry’s service fees.

He said the last gazette before this one was made in 2006, and by then circumstances would not allow them to implement the fee structure.

Keketso explained that some of the reasons why they did not implement the fees by then, is that among the ten districts of Lesotho, two districts of Maseru and Leribe were using the National Traffic Information System (NATIS).

He said the main challenge of this system was that it rejected the new tariffs, and was not giving out consistent reports.

In his remarks he stated that currently the system is working in all ten districts of the country and so they will implement the new fees.
