The Lesotho Mounted Police Service (LMPS) together with Econet Telecom Lesotho officially launched a service through which motorists on the roads throughout the country will pay spot fines using Eco-Cash.

Speaking in Maseru on Monday the 24th February 2020, Econet Telecom Lesotho Chief Executive Officer Mr. Dennis Plaatjies, said they are grateful that the Department of Road Safety, Ministry of Police and Public Safety, Engidata and Eco-Cash Department of Econet Telecom Lesotho, realized the need to make it easy for motorists to pay spot fines.

He said the plan will help motorists provide proof of payment for their spot fines, to traffic officers on the roads.

The LMPS Commander in chief Commissioner Holomo Molibeli, said they partnered together to ensure that they cherish publish services in Lesotho.

He said last time they launched electronic spot fines, and now they launch a new method of payment for spot fines, which does not require motorists to visit sub-accountancy offices.
