ARRESTS FOR DISREGARD OF THE LOCKDOWN PROTOCOLS ARE MADE IN MASERU AND BEREA.
Arrests for disregard of the lockdown protocols are made in Maseru and Berea.

The National Emergency Command Centre (NECC) says arrests for disregard of Lockdown protocol have been made, in the districts of Maseru and Berea.

The suspects were charged for contravening Section 3(14), read with Section 10(2) of Public Health Regulation COVID-19, Legal Notice 27 of 2020.

In a statement NECC said six men aged between 24 and 40 from Ha-Motjoka in the Berea district were remanded into custody, after being arrested at Roadside Public Bar for drinking liquor between 6.00 and 7:00pm.

In another incident, three people consisting of two males; one a member of the Lesotho Defence Force, and one female aged between 23 and 38 were arrested after being found drinking alcohol at Ha-Leqele in an illegal business.

They contravened Section 34(1) and (2) of Liquor Licensing Act No. 8 of 1998, as well as Section 3(6) of Public Health COVID-19 Regulation 2020 and they were granted free bail.
