n an endeavour to develop the Ha Shelile area in Maseru, the community joined forces in constructing a road out of a donga. On Saturday they (villagers) convened at Ha Shelile villagers   to celebrate their achievement. This event saw the presence of villagers including those from the nearby villages.Area Chief of Ha Shelile, Teboho Shelile congratulated the people of Ha Shelile for a job well done, which he said should serve as a sign that together villagers can achieve huge strides.

However, he appealed to other villagers who were against this project saying it is a political stunt to understand the importance of development in their area beyond their different political parties; regalia Similarly, Mr. Kibi Sefubanyane, Secretary for a Member of Parliament at Tsolo No. 35 constituency commended villagers for this work, saying their office wishes to engage more in all matters meant to motivate and empower the society in a democratic dispensation.

In an interview, a community member who led this initiative, Mr. Malobela Soso highlighted the importance of roads as an essential aspect of infrastructure development within the society.

He noted that while it is the duty of the government to ensure that citizens have the right to quality roads, the world today is going through economic recession, saying they cannot wait for the economy to recover as they were hindered to engage in their activities previously du to the existing of the donga in their area.

He thanked and acknowledged Tsolo No. 35 constituency Member of Parliament – Mr. Mathiba Malothoane and a Community Counsellor Mr. Lebesa Lebesa for having extended a helping hand financially and otherwise from what the society had already collected while the society also ensured construction.
