A few hours ahead of local government elections some Basotho Voters expressed the importance of loving Lesotho beyond elections.

They say elections are of great importance but Lesotho as a country is more important, hence why today's election process should ensure that peace, stability and tranquillity prevail.

According to Mr. Hanyane 'Muso, Lesotho has not registered successes in terms of implementation and deliverables as a result of elections, either local or general elections, the more reason why Basotho should think beyond elections and find ways that can promote unity among the society in an attempt to fight poverty and hunger.

Furthermore, Christian Council of Lesotho, General Secretary, Ms. 'Masechaba Thorela assured Basotho that the Council is with the nation through prayers, adding that all Basotho should vote for a change needed in a community they live in.

The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) is the one overseeing the election process holistically with the aim to ensure that they are held in line with the ethical code of conduct set with key emphasis on transparency.
