Mokhotlong_The Acting Principal Chief (PC) of Mokhotlong Chief Lerotholi Mathealira Seeiso will officially be inaugurated by King Letsie III on January 13, 2024.

The Chief Matsieng, Chief Seeiso Bereng Seeiso of made the announcement during the Chiefs meeting held at Thabang in Mokhotlong on Monday.

Chief Seeiso urged the Chiefs to start preparing for the historic event intended to officially introduce the Acting Principal Chief before the public.

He also informed the Chiefs that there will be the unveiling of a monument of the late Principal Chief of Mokhotlong, Chief Mathealira Seeiso who died on December 30 in 2021.

He said the Royal family will be working together with the government to prepare for the ceremony adding that the Mokhotlong community should participate to make the event a success.

The Chiefs appreciated the information on the inauguration and said they will impart it to the public.

Chief Lerotholi Mathealira Seeiso, 49, is the eldest son of the late Chief Mathealira Seeiso and Chieftainess 'Malerotholi Mathealira Seeiso. He started acting in the office since the ill health of his father.

Chief Seeiso was accompanied by the Principal Chief of Likhoele, Chief Lerotholi Leshoboro Seeiso to Thabang where information regarding the official inauguration and unveiling of the monument was announced.

At the same meeting, the newly appointed District Administrator for Mokhotlong Mr. Kepa Keqe was introduced to the chiefs.
