A Pitiki group dubbed Bo-mme ba lerato accompanied by the district residents, friends and family have yesterday  presented a M100 000 cheque prize to the District Administrator (DA) with melodious songs and ululation. This follows their participation in Boiketlo ba Basali Foundation Pitiki competitions held in Maseru last Saturday, February 24, 2024.

Qacha Nek with 25 members topped all the ten districts followed by Berea with M80 000 and Maseru M60 000. Other districts received consolation prizes of M10 000 each.Speaking to the Agency, Mrs Maletlotlo Pheku said they saw it fit to celebrate their achievement with Melele as they have been supportive. She attributed their win to preparedness, unity and neatness saying this win made them proud. We never thought that through Pitiki we will win this big and change our lives for the better.

She revealed that they intend to establish a piggery project with the money. She said they are eager to launch the project as its establishment will not only empower other women but also create jobs as it grows. Boiketlo ba Basali (BBB), an initiative founded by Nthati Moorosi, who is also the Minister of information, communication, science, technology, and innovation was launched around May 2023 with the aim of empowering women in business to come forth and share ideas for growth in a bid to achieve financial independence.
