The Ministry of Home Affairs visited the home of the elderly people in Leribe Pitseng yesterday, to register them for the identification documents.

The personal secretary of the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Mrs Konosoang Bereng, said the nuns are taking care of the elderly people in that elderly home, and the old people who live in poor families in villages around Pitseng area.

Mrs Bereng said they visited the place after the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Honourable Machesetsa Mofomobe received reports that the elderly people in Pitseng home for the elderly do not have identification documents.

The reports further showed that the nuns struggled to help the elderly in service institutions where they were required to give out their identity documents.

She stated that they visited the place yesterday to register the elderly for birth certificates, and further said in the next weeks when they visit the home again they are going to provide the elderly people with identification documents.
